Who is Website Managers?
Hello, I am Jim Hutchinson, Project Manager for Website Managers. I have been involved in electronics and computers since 1980, manufacturing, sales, marketing and management in various industries.
In 1990 I took an interest in marketing my part time computer repair business on the Internet. I began to learn how to design an develop web sites by reading some books and looking at the source of the other web sites I visited. Most of the WYSIWYG programs I tried (and there have been MANY) did not do what I wanted, so I learned how to hard-code with Windows Notepad.
In 1998 I realized that building websites was just the beginning. Those sites need to be hosted somewhere for others to access them. So I started learning all I could about web servers, how they operate and how to manage them. Once I got a good feel for them, I started invited others to host their sites with us. Many of those clients are still hosting their websites with us today.
Throughout the years I have gone through many design, programming and technical teams. Today we have a stable team of highly experienced developers and technical staff. Together we have learned many things in various areas of design, development and marketing websites.
When I saw that WordPress offered a way to manage websites easier than other methods that involved creating the page offline, uploading the files, checking for errors, editing, uploading again, etc. I became addicted to WordPress. Now my focus is teaching others how to get the most out of using WordPress.
My intention here is to share ideas with you to help build your level of knowledge in website management so you can put them to use to improve how you build and market your website. Your comments and feedback on each of the articles is welcome.
