How to Prevent WordPress Crashes

How to Prevent WordPress Crashes by Repairing MySQL Tables

The heart of every WordPress blog is a database. Most often that will be MySQL (pronounced My S.Q.L. or My Sequel).

If your WordPress blog display errors instead of your content, your database could be corrupted! That would be like your heart having a murmur; you never know when it will stop working properly.

I normally cringe when someone who is unfamiliar with phpMyAdmin or dealing with databases in general says they want to look around in there. One wrong click can create a lot more problems. Following the instructions in this video, you will learn how to easily fix the database problems in just a few minutes and prevent it from happening in the future.

Just be careful to do exactly what the video shows you and nothing else, unless you are positive you know what you are doing. This is not just a scare tactic; it is a fact that I have seen happen way too many times.

If after watching the video you are still skeptical about going into the heart of your website, Website Managers will handle that for you. No, it will not cost you an arm and a leg either.

So what do you think? Are you up to the challenge? Post your comments and let us know.

Which Name To Use On Blog Comments

When building your WordPress blog, eventually you will want the search engines to put you closer to the top of their results list for certain keywords. To get up there further, there are some things you can do on your blog.

One of my friends is building multiple sites using WordPress and asked me how long the navigation button titles should be. I thought the answer might help others too, so here is that conversation.
