Continuing with our Artisteer theme design tutorial, we explore the various ways you can design the background appearance by adding an image, glare or texture and filling the background with a solid color.

You can also adjust the background image appearance by altering the glare, texture and fill color. So even though you have a special image you want to use for the background, you can alter its appearance by applying some of the other menu choices.

Continuing with the Artisteer tour to design WordPress themes, you can get overall layout ideas from using the Suggest Layout menu. There are limited layout designs from which to choose within the program. However, you can choose to have a header and menu on top, a header with no menu, a menu with no header, or no header or menu at all.

From there you can modify the individual areas within the layout using navigation bar options for the following areas:

• Page Layout
• Number of columns
• Position of Columns
• Search Block Position
• Category Block Position
• Archive Block Position
• Blogroll Block Position

In the last video, we explored the ideas menu in Artisteer to choose your overall design. This video covers the colors and fonts menu, where you will learn how to choose colors, create and save color schemes, edit the typography for both the entire site and individual components within your theme.

Did you know that you could change the behavior of individual fonts within your theme? You will learn how to edit the font properties so they are consistent throughout your theme, instead of having to specify them we you write.
